Part 2 - Getting Your Camera Off Auto Mode
This workshop demystifies and provides an explanation of the camera’s aperture priority and shutter priority settings. The instructor will break down the exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture & ISO) using real world examples to show how they are interrelated. At the completion participants will be able to make informed decisions using the exposure triangle to get the photograph they want. The class also includes a brief discussion on the visual distortion of wide angle vs. telephoto lenses.
Following that there will be small group hands-on time to help participants learn how to change these settings on their own camera. Participants will then have time to practice what they learned along with members from the DAPC who will be available for assistance. Participants will return to the workshop environment for small group discussion and to answer questions they may have.
This class will be taught by Dave Brown, Doña Ana Photography Club Member-At-Large. Dave has been involved in photography for more than 40 years and has provided instruction to adult learners for over 20 years. He has had images on display at local venues and has been published in New Mexico Magazine®. He enjoys helping people understand the workings of photography so they may take that knowledge and improve their photos.

Part 5 - Question and Answer Session and Image Critique
The fifth and final photography bootcamp class will be a question and answer session, along with the opportunity to have your images critiqued by members of the Doña Ana Photography Club.
This is YOUR time to ask any questions about anything photography related. We hope you’ve been out learning your cameras, taking pictures, trying new things, different modes, etc. Now is the time to come back and ask questions about issues you may have come across. Whether you need more explanation about topics covered during the bootcamp, have questions about certain techniques or gear, need more information about RAW vs. JPEG, etc., this is your time to ask. Please don’t hesitant to ask any questions, chances are high that others have similar questions and this is a learning experience for all. The best way to learn and improve your photography skill is to practice and ask questions.
Also during this class, there will be time for some image critiques. We will have members from the Doña Ana Photography Club to review your images and give you some feedback. Please prepare 3-5 images that you would like to have critiqued and bring them on a USB thumb drive; if you do not have access to a USB thumb drive, please contact Rob Peinert at education@daphotoclub.org.
